Coffee is only really good when everyone benefits from it – from farmer to barista. At ESCA we believe in coffee without detours: transparent, tasty and straight from Brazil. No complicated labels, no marketing tricks. Just honest coffee, as it was meant to be.
Why Brazil is the tastemaker of the coffee world
Brazil has been the world’s largest coffee producer for decades. But what many people don’t know is that the country doesn’t just deliver volume, it also delivers character. Brazilian coffee is known for its full body, low acidity and soft, nutty flavours. And that’s exactly what we at ESCA are looking for: balance, quality and reliability.
In the Minas Gerais region, among citrus groves and corn fields, the beans grow where our coffee begins. Due to its location at an altitude of around 1100 meters, the coffee cherries ripen more slowly. This gives the bean more time to develop natural sugars, resulting in a refined, mild and rich flavor profile – perfect for those who take their cup seriously.
What do we mean by 'fair trade coffee'?
At ESCA, everything revolves around transparency, quality and respect for the source. No fuss, just good coffee, fairly traded and produced with care.
We work directly with coffee farmers in Minas Gerais – without intermediaries. As a result:
- farmers get a fair price for their work
- we can invest in sustainable relationships
- you don't pay extra for unnecessary links
The bar is also set high in processing. We only select high-quality beans (from 16+).
- Arabicas are full and soft, with notes of caramel and chocolate
-
Robustas have an earthy, nutty flavor and extra strength
Robustas are even cleaned twice , so that only the best beans remain.
Everything is done with respect for people and nature — socially and ecologically responsible , from plant to packaging.
From mountain to cup: the journey of our coffee
Every bean in your bag ESCA coffee starts on a small plantation in Minas Gerais, where families have been passionately growing coffee for generations. The climate, soil and rhythm of the land all contribute to a unique taste experience.
After harvesting, the coffee is carefully processed and selected. Only the best beans continue. The moment you order, production begins: the roasting process and further processing are then set in motion . We ensure that your beans have been roasted between 3 and 6 months ago upon delivery, so that you always have fresh coffee at home.
For fixed agreements (such as for companies) we plan the stock. Deliveries can take place monthly or quarterly — tailored to your needs. No waste, no stress.

Coffee culture in the Netherlands and Spain
In the Netherlands, coffee is almost cultural heritage. Whether you make an espresso, pour a filter coffee or let your fully automatic coffee machine do its job — quality counts. Sustainable and traceable coffee is no longer a niche here, but the norm. More and more coffee drinkers consciously choose brands that work honestly and transparently.
In Spain, coffee has a more social character. The day starts with a café solo or cortado , often outside the home. But there too, awareness is growing: people want to know where their coffee comes from and who worked on it. The demand for sustainable, fair coffee with character is growing, especially among young consumers.
ESCA fits into both worlds. Whether you wake up in Amsterdam or wake up in Valencia — our beans bring flavor and story together, in every sip.

Is your coffee delivered fresh?
Yes. As soon as you order, we start the roasting and production process. Our beans are planned to be roasted between 3 and 6 months before delivery – for optimum freshness and flavour.
